The timer had started resetting in the middle of a cooling cycle, which was a pain in the ass, but when it started resetting in the middle of a roast, that made it impossible to use. The manufacturer (Nesco) is unwilling to just send the microprocessor board so that I can replace it, and shipping to and from their service center in the Midwest plus the cost of the part would be a significant part of the cost of a new unit (which, considering how crappy the customer service was turning out to be, I was not particularly interested in). So...
