Jun. 11th, 2008 11:18 amFEMA Give Away $85 Million In Supplies Intended For Katrina Victims. Unfortunately, they didn't give them to the people for whom they had been intended. While there are still thousands of working homeless in New Orleans (apartments that used to go for 4400/month are now $1500/month, so the average working stiff is just SOL), tents, kitchen basics, camp stoves, and many other supplies that had been donated to FEMA for Katrina relief have been sitting in warehouses for the past two years.
We've got friends in New Orleans. They're doing okay, but they know a lot of people who aren't, and who could have really used some of this stuff.
