Kong Pt II

So we went Sunday afternoon to see Peter Jackson's King Kong in the Dome at the Arclight. Good choice. We were in the third row and the screen just about wrapped around our peripheral vision for your basic immersive cinematic experience.

So, for the most part, a big thumbs up. I'll buy the DVD when it comes out.

Channeling somebody's Bubbe

Just whipped up a batch of Gehkte Leber. We didn't have any schmaltz on hand, so I used some rendered goose fat that we had from roasting the Thanksgiving goose, hard-boiled the eggs fresh this morning and took my time to properly caramelize the onion in the goose grease. Being New Yawkahs we always keep matzo on hand and I am sitting here with a Egg and Onion Matzo slathered with chopped liver, congratulating myself.
